Contents Of Ratio Calculator Excel Template
This template consists of 2 sections:
- HR to Employee Ratio
- Department-wise HR to Employee Ratio
HR to Employee Ratio
The first section is for calculating the ratio for the organization as a whole. You need to insert only 2 details: the number of HR full-time employees and total full-time employees.
If you have any part-time employees then you need to insert additional details: Part-Time Employee count and their weekly working hours.
First, the template will convert part-time employees to full-time equivalents. Then it will calculate the ratio for you.
Usually, an FTE 2080 hours a year. Hence, to convert the part-time employees to FTEs, the template applies the following formula:
(Part-time employees X Weekly Hours X 52 Weeks) / 2080 hours.
Both Total FTE ad HR to Employee Ratio consists of predefined formulas and it automatically calculates both the for you.
Department-wise Ratio
This section is applicable to companies that have a bigger workforce or multiple departments. It consists of the following columns:
HR FTEs: No. of Human resources staff for that particular department.
FTEs: Total headcount of the full-time employees of that particular department.
Part-Time Employees: No. of Part-time employees in that department.
Part-Time Weekly Hours: No. of hours that part-time employees work weekly.
Total FTEs: This column consists of a formula. Thus, automatically calculates the total number of FTEs after converting the part-time employees and adding it to FTE count.
Department: Insert the name of the department.
HR to Employee Ratio: This column consists of a predefined formula and hence you don’t need to make any entry in this column. It calculates HR to Employee Ratio department-wise as well for the whole organization (last row).
