In the excel inventory file, only the Template sheet is to be filled and other excel sheets are for reference purpose. We have taken Skydiving excel file in Sports, Fitness & Outdoors Category as an example to understand the attributes and field values.
There are total 10 sections in the Skydiving Excel Template. These sections will mostly remain the same for any product excel sheet that is downloaded with a minor change in the sequence of field columns depending on the product type.
Let us understand the column attributes and required field values necessary to fill in the details.
Product type: The product type. For example, skydiving gear.
Seller SKU: A unique product identification number given by a merchant to distinguish products.
Brand name: The brand name of the product.
Product ID: An numerical value of 12 or 16 digits.
Product ID type: Select option from the drop-down list. GCID, UPC, EAN, etc.
Item name: The product title including brand, color, size, material, weight etc.
Manufacturer: Name of the manufacturer of the product
Standard price: The selling price of the product.
Quantity: The quantity of the product offered for sale.
Shipping-template: Select the default template provided by Amazon or enter your own.
Maximum retail price: Provide the MRP of your product.
Main image URL: Paste the main product image URL here.
Swatch image URL: Image format of the color chart. Enter URLs of color swatch here.
Other image URL: Give other product image URLs.
Useful tip: Upload all product images on Google Drive, Dropbox or any other similar cloud platform and copy their links to paste it here. Keep image background white. The image pixels must be minimum 500 x 500 or more for better visibility when zoomed. Use HD product images.
Variation section in Sports, Fitness & Outdoors Category file is used only when you intend to add a product variation or an accessory of the main product. Leave this blank if you are listing main product. To understand variation better, refer to the “example” tab in the excel worksheet.
Parentage: Values will be either parent or child.
Parent SKU: Provide the SKU of the main product.
Relationship type: Describe whether the product is an accessory or a close variant of the main product.
Variation theme: Define the variation theme of product here. it can size, color, material etc.
Update delete: Use “Update” or “Partial Update” if you want to update an existing product. Use “Delete” if you want to completely remove the listing.
Product description: A short product description to describe your product.
Manufacturer part number: Refer product packaging for the part number.
Recommended browse nodes: See valid values tab for browse nodes.
Outer material type: The outer material of the product.
Department: Men, women or children specify for whom the product is made.
Style: The industry name of the style.
Target audience: Define your product target audience. You get total 5 column space.
Thesaurus attributes keyword: Select from the list of valid value tab.
Search terms: Specify words that describe your products. You get total 5 column space.
Key product features: Indicate the most important features of your product in short sentences or phrase. You get total 5 column space.
Model name: The model name of the product.
Sport: Name of the sport in which the product is used.
Item type name: Indicate the item type.
Colour & color map: The standard color name of the product.
Size: The size of the product.
Size map: The size map of the product.
Material type: The type of material from which the product is made.
Material composition: Name the composition of the material used n the product.
Season: Season when the sport is played.
Item shape: The shape of the item.
Hand: Describe the hand orientation of the product.
As we have taken the example of skydiving the above-mentioned fields will be irrelevant for skydiving product and hence one can skip this section. Sellers planning to sell mountain bikes or golf sports product then only fill in the details.
Shaft material: For golf-related products.
Tension level: The amount of force the product can withstand.
Head size name: For golf-related products.
Display maximum weight recommendation unit of measure: Select LB, OZ, KG or GR from the list.
The above attributes are for golf products under the Sports, Fitness & Outdoors Category. Sellers not dealing in golf products or items that don’t include shaft can skip this section.
Shipping options: Specify the shipping channel of the product.
Model year: Year in which the product was made.
Lens color: Fill the lens color name if the product has one or leave empty.
What’s in the box: Describe the components in the package.
Shipping weight: The final weight of the product after packing.
Website shipping weight unit of measure: Select GR, KG, OZ or LB here.
Display width: The width of the product.
Display width unit of measure: The measuring units of product width. For example, FT, IN, CM, MM, etc.
Display length: The length of the product.
Item display length unit of measure: Indicate the measuring units of product length. For example, FT, IN, CM, MM, etc.
Peak height: Maximum height of the product.
Item display height unit of measure: The measuring units of product height. For example, FT, IN, CM, MM, etc.
Display weight: The weight of the product.
Item display weight unit of measure: The measuring units of product weight.
Boat fender diameter: For water sports product only.
Item display diameter unit of measure: For water sports product only.
Display volume: The volume of the product.
Item display volume unit of measure: The measuring units of product volume.
Line capacity: Applicable for fishing products only.
Item height: The height of the product.
Item height unit of measure: The measuring unit of product height.
The above section is to describe the item length, width & weight of the product along with the measuring units respectively. For field value, you can refer the valid values tab.
Coverage area: The total area covered by the product
Item area unit of measure: The measuring unit of the product area.
Display dimensions unit of measure: The measuring unit of the display dimensions.
Volume capacity name unit of measure: The measuring unit of the product volume capacity.
Item dimensions unit of measure: The measuring unit of the product dimensions (LxBxH).
Fulfillment basically refers to Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) where Amazon delivers an order to the buyer on behalf of sellers. A seller can also use Amazon India easy ship services or an Alternative to Amazon India Easy Ship Program called Self Ship (Fulfilled by Merchant).
Fulfillment center ID: Select AMAZON_IN or DEFAULT for fulfillment center ID.
Package weight: The package weight when ready to ship (including packaging).
Package weight unit of measure: Specify the package weight unit in LB, OZ, KG, Milligrams, GR, etc.
Package height, length & width: Specify the package height, width & length at the fulfillment center.
Package dimensions unit of measure: Write the package dimension unit of measure in CM, FT, IN, M, MM.
Country/Region of origin: The country or region of origin of the product.
Legal disclaimer description: A short description of any legal law pertaining to the product.
Safety warning: Write safety warning for buyers while using the products.
Fabric type: Applicable if you are selling sportswear items.
In compliance, section sellers need to provide battery details if their products run on batteries even under Sports, Fitness & Outdoors Category. If not then leave it blank.
Item condition: Write the item condition. Example New, Refurbished, Used, etc.
Offer condition note: If item condition is not “New” then describe the condition here in brief.
Launch, release & restock date: Specify the product launch, release & restock date. You can leave these field empty.
Handling time: Time needed to pick, pack & ship the product.
Product tax code: Write amazon’s standard code to identify the product tax.
Sale price: The price at which a seller offers a product on SALE.
Sale start & end date: The date when you want to start & end a sale.
Max order quantity: Specify the largest quantity that a buyer can order.
Package quantity: The number of products packed in a single order.
Can be gift messaged: Select Yes or No.
Is gift wrap available?: Select Yes or No.
Is discontinued by manufacturer: Fill in the details only if your product is discontinued by the manufacturer.
Number of items: The number of items in the products.
Max aggregate ship quantity: Number of items in a single shipment.
Stop selling date: Specify the date when you want to stop selling the product.
Offering release date: A specific date to fulfill a pre-orderable product.
Use the check file option to perform a file validation process by Amazon India before final upload. The check file option will find errors so that they can be corrected before you add the products to inventory. Chose the excel file & click check my file.
Once the excel inventory file is error free, choose the file and click upload. Now all your products will start adding to the inventory.
