After tax deductions are those deductions from employee’s pay that does not reduce the employee’s taxable income.
It is taken off only after all applicable taxes and other deductions have been made. (union dues, garnishments, charitable contributions etc)
In simple terms, after tax deductions are those deductions that are subtracted from your gross earnings after the federal, state, local income taxes and social/medicare taxes are withheld.
